About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

May Flowers

I don't know about where you are but I thought the saying was APRIL SHOWERS...bring May Flowers!  it hasn't stopped raining.  Then one day it is super gorgeous and I have the central air on and next time I have the heat on!  Not sure what is going on with Mother Nature but she needs to make up her mind!!! LOL

Over at the Sisterhood of Crafters we have a new challenge for you all.  The challenge is to create a project with flowers on it (has to have at least one flower).  I pulled out my PaperTrey Ink stamps which I haven't used in ages.

For this card I grabbed an extra die cut from PT's Mat Stack dies.  I stamped the huge bunch of flowers from their Jar Fillers set so it will just show up in the corner and highlighted it with my Copics.
This one was made with an extra SVG cut that was to big.  I cut off the top and bottom to fit on the card and I simply created this card with whatever I could reach on my craft desk.  The flower is a sticker from Basic Grey and the background stamp is ALL MESHED up from Shabby Chic Stamps.  Sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink.

That's What Friends Are For Blog Hop

I'm back in the Orchard!! For the day that is :(

Welcome to the Peachy Keen DT Alumni Blog hop.  If you came here from the ever so talented Joanna's blog then you are right on track.  If not, you can click HERE  to start from the beginning.  Every time I get a PKS package and open the stamps I get hit with that wonderful smell of Polymer that transports me back to my trip to WI and Peachy Keen Headquarters.  It is amazing how you can become so close to someone you only know over the internet.  I miss all my PKS family, I really do.  They are just an incredible bunch of ladies.

We are all coming out of retirement to put together a super fun blog hop for everyone.  And of course a blog hop wouldn't be complete without prizes.  Now you want to make sure that you leave a comment on every page because 3 designers will be giving away some awesome prizes.  We don't even know which three designers will be giving them away.  We won't know until the morning of the announcement!!  All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on my blog as well as the PKS blog.  In order to win, you must have comments on both blogs.  What are the prizes you ask?? Kathy is generously giving away three gift certificates.  One in the amount of $50, one for $30 and one for $20.  How awesome is that??? Do you have any idea how much Peachy goodies you can get for that!!

For my first project I combined two newly released stamp sets.  The moment I opened the package and saw GRANDPA'S PAJAMAS I thought "WOW that would be a gorgeous envelope liner" so I took that and rolled with it.  I paired it up with the April stamp of the month set. OMG if you haven't checked that set out you don't know what you are missing.  There are so many possibilities with this set, I just adore it.  I used a SVG file from the Silhouette online store to complete this card.  I am extremely far behind in sending something out to "someone" so I made this card with her in mind.  I popped up the face with some foam tape for a bit of dimension and distressed the edges with TH Vintage Photo.

I made this card with another friend in mind who I think will really laugh at the sentiments on this card because it really fits me!  I used the March Stamp of the month set  for this one. The sky is actually several shade of light blue but it is really hard to tell from this photo.  I can't wait to play with the rest of the set!

Okay I hope you enjoyed your stay here, now hop on over to the fabulously talented Samantha's blog.  And remember don't forget to leave a comment here as well as the PKS blog in order to be eligible to win the prizes.  You have until Midnight tonight to leave the comments ...don't miss out!

Happy Father's Day

I made this great male card for my hubby for Father's Day from my twin girls.  I sometime's have a hard time making a male themed card but this one was super easy.  I wanted to keep the sentiment as the main image so I simply ran a silver/metallic piece of card stock thru my Cuttlebug and distressed it with several shades and types of ink.  Then I stamped a sentiment which I just adore from my FATHER'S DAY stamp set from Shabby Chic Stamps.  Which by the way is still having their stamps 50% off.  Supplies are limited and some are already sold out so you may want to take a gander on over to the store and check it out.

Here is another Enabler alert...... SVG ATTIC is having a sale this week (until May 5th) and all of their files are 30% off.  They have some really cool and fabulous sets.  They are just adorable!  You can see some of the files showcased here on my blog.
