About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Joyeux Noel Shaker Card

Good morning! It is my pleasure to host the daily post today over on the CDD blog. The idea for this started from a tissue box believe it or not. It was a light blue background with a red bird, I thought it was so pretty so I had to come up with my version of it.

First I used the circle die from the SHAKE IT UP die set.  I cut out the top layer of my shaker card and then a piece of my Xpress card stock which I was going to stamp my images onto.  I inked up the background with some of my Tim Holtz distress ink then dusted it with Perfect Pearls for that shimmer look.

The birds came from the 2x3 stamp set called FEATHERED FRIENDS.  I stamped them about where I wanted them and then cut out some branches using the URN dies for the birds to sit on. The greenery came from WINTER WONDERLAND dies which I draped around the banner from the MIX IT UP die set. To finish it all off I used the "Joyeux Noel" sentiment from SIMPLY CHRISTMAS.

Thank you for stopping by the Craftin' Desert Divas blog today and sharing a moment of your day with me!

Oh Nuts, I forgot!

Good morning, I am up on the Craftin' Desert Divas blog today hosting the daily post.  I wanted to share with you the card that I made.

I wanted to create a fun but simple card that you can whip up in a few minutes and even mass produce if you needed to.

First I used the Acorn from AUTUMN WISHES along with the "OH NUTS! I forgot.  I stamped the acorn all over a scrap piece of Kraft cardstock and colored the top with my Wink of Stella brown glitter pen to accent it.  I used several different rectangle shaped dies and placed them to fit onto my card base.  I did cut some pieces a little smaller to fit my needs by running it thru again but cutting some of it off.  I did use dies from FANCY FRAMES , MIX IT UP and PLAN IT dies.

Next I used my FANCY STITCHED LABEL dies for the cream center.  I stamped the sentiment from AUTUMN WISHES on it then I used the word "Sorry" from WISHFUL THOUGHTS and cut it out in orange so it would give a little bit of contrast.  The idea for this card was based off my paper from Authentique. Lastly I added some PUMPKIN SPICE sequins to finish it off.

To make this easier you can take a larger piece of kraft (or whatever color card base you would like) and stamp all over the page, then cut it down to various sizes. I love to color my images but sometimes I like to not only use up my scraps (who doesn't??? lol) but to use my dies that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE so much.  This card is nice and flat so it is easy to mail.

Thank you for stopping by today and sharing a couple of minutes of your day with me.

Trick or Treat........

Good morning Y'all! I wanted to share with you a fun way to dress up some Treats for Halloween.

In our neighborhood we participate in the "Booing" your neighbors where we leave treats on the doorstep of one of our neighbors with a note that they have been Boo'd.  It's usually a basket of some sort of goodies and you are not supposed to know who it is from which is part of the fun.  However people always know when it is from me since I like to dress up my goodies in some way.

I had a package of these Halloween colored gumballs which I repackaged and decorated with the adorable CDD digital stamp called IN STITCHES.  I don't normally do zombies but I couldn't help myself with this one, it was too darn cute.  I opened it up in my Silhouette software and did some duplicating and overlapping to get the layout I wanted. Then I used my IN LINE DIES to cut the paper and layer it with the stitched rounded edge for a finished look. I stamped the sentiment from Ghostly Greetings one one of the FLAG BANNER dies.

I hope you enjoyed my quick way to dress up an ordinary bag of gumballs and repackage them into something cute!

Thank you for stopping by and
HAPPY CRAFTING.

Totally awesome........

Good morning! I wanted to pop on here to share with you my adorable surfer "dude" taking advantage of his last days of summer.  I used to be into very dull, neutral tones but now I am loving these bright colors!

To create this card  I cut out my top card base using the CRAZY STITCHED FRAME die. Even though it is subtle in this card I liked how it gave it a bit of detail around the edge. I used ISLAND PARADISE for my little Surfer and his rad surfboard.  To create the waves I actually used the opposite side of the STITCHED SCALLOP die so they would be facing in the direction he was surfing. I grabbed the opposite side from the cut and since I hate wasting things, I added it to the bottom edge of the card. CDD does carry a wave die in their OUTDOOR LANDSCAPE die set but the water was facing the opposite direction then what I needed it to. Plus I love the double stitching on the Scallop dies, it gives it an extra little "POP"! Finally to make the card "TOTALLY AWESOME" I used the GREETING WORD dies and cut it out in several layers so it stood out some.

Thank you for stopping by today~!

Sadly with this card I am saying goodbye to my last "summer" card, with that said WAIT TO YOU SEE THE ADORABLE (and I mean ADORABLE) fall/winter stamps coming out soon.  I am tickled pink especially since Fall is my favorite season of the year!

HAPPY CRAFTING!

Blessed to have you.........

Good morning! I wanted to pop on here to share with you a shaker card that I made with some of my CDD products.  This is a perfect card to have in your stash.

I was going for a CAS card of sorts which is usually hard for me, however I am happy how this one came out.  I started with the PICTURE FRAME die to make the card base. Next I used the SHAKER TAG DIES to make the shaker tag in the middle.

I wanted to use the SCRIBBLE CIRCLE dies as my center and turn that into the shaker window so I had to free hand the cut out with my Xacto knife.  I did two layers on the Scribble circle so it would have a base underneath. I turned this into my shaker window and added some of those gorgeous flowers from the BOTANICAL LAYERS stamp set and popped them up a bit with some foam tape. This was the first time I used my INKTENSE pencils.  I love them but need to learn how to use them.  I finished the card off by adding the BLESSED sentiment from the GREETING WORD dies, and a flag banner from the FLAG BANNER dies stamped with a sentiment from the coordinating TINY SENTIMENT stamp set. This is the type of card you can mass produce while using up some of your scraps!

Thank you for stopping by my Blog today and for taking a moment out of your busy day and sharing it with me.

Have a great day!
HAPPY CRAFTING!

Day #2 Craftin' Desert Divas Blog Hop

Welcome to the Craftin Desert Divas August Release Blog Hop. We have some wonderful stamps and dies that we will be sharing with you.

All stamps are in the CDD Shop and now available for purchase HERE.

We also offer SVG stamp outlines for .99 they work perfectly with your cutting machine. You must have a program that opens these files. This is a great alternative to coordinating dies and much less expensive.

Here's what I've created for you...

I wanted to show that the CDD Planner stamps are not just for planners, there are so many different possibilities to create with this set. I mixed the HALL PASS stamp set with the PICTURE THAT stamp set to create the background. I stamped the images randomly on a piece of Xpress paper then used my PICTURE FRAME die to create the base.
Next I used the Oval die from the FANCY STITCHED LABEL die set to cut out the center. My first idea was to create a bookmark with this for my daughter who loves sparkly things....just perfect for a shaker card.  However I figured it would be better flat. But in my typical crafty life I changed gears last minute and used the "Thanks" die from GREETING WORD dies paired up with the "for all you do" sentiment from TINY SENTIMENT. To finish it off I inked around the edges with some Tim Holtz Black Soot distress ink.

Watercoloring with Distress Inks

Good morning! Today starts another linky party over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  The theme is "WATERCOLOR".  I love my collection of Tim Holtz distress inks so I decided to try using them to watercolor with.

I started out with my FLOWERS IN BLOOM stamp set, using a masking then embossing method a few flowers at a time.  When that was done I used my reinkers to watercolor these gorgeous flowers in.  The sentiments came from WISHFUL THOUGHTS.

This is my attempt at a CAS card.  I hope you like it, if so come on by the CDD blog and play along with us.  Let me see your Watercolor creations! I love getting inspiration from you all!
